Travel & Transportation
There is a complimentary shuttle to the Boathouse departing from The Hoxton at 5:30pm. The shuttle will also take guests back to The Hoxton at the end of the evening at two departure times: 11:20pm and 12:00am.
If you are taking an Uber or car service, it is easiest to be dropped off at the Lincoln Road & Ocean Avenue entrance. From there you will see signs & wayfinders to help navigate the short walk to the Boathouse.
Things to Do:
The 1883 landmark connects Manhattan & Brooklyn and is known for its unique stone-&-steel design. Whether you're walking from Brooklyn to Manhattan or vice versa, the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the most iconic walks New York City has to offer.
Smorgasburg is the largest weekly open-air food market in America, attracting 20,000-30,000 people to Brooklyn each weekend to eat from 100 local vendors—Saturdays on the Williamsburg waterfront and Sundays in Prospect Park (11:00am- 6:00pm at both venues).
Brooklyn Flea features hundreds of top vendors of furniture, vintage clothing, collectibles and antiques, as well as a tightly curated selection of jewelry, art, and crafts by local artisans and designers, plus delicious fresh food. The markets take place outdoors Saturday in Williamsburg and Sundays in DUMBO. (Same operator as Smorgasburg).
Brooklyn Bowl is a bowling alley, live music venue, eatery and true staple to the Williamsburg neighborhood. (After 6:00pm it’s 21+)
Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a 52-acre urban botanic garden located in Mount Prospect Park (right next door to Prospect Park where the wedding will be held).
The 9/11 Memorial Museum serves as the country's principal institution concerned with exploring the implications of the events of 9/11, documenting the impact of those events and exploring 9/11's continuing significance. The Museum tells the story of 9/11 through interactive technology, archives, narratives and a collection of artifacts. Beautifully executed, chilling and impactful.
One World Observatory, atop One World Trade Center- the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere- offers sweeping 360 views of NYC. Would recommend booking your slot for directly before or after a visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum as a good way to hit two sites in one swoop.
If you have the chance to make it to Central Park, you should. There’s tons to do whether you walk, picnic, rent row boats on the lake, grab a drink at the Boathouse or visit the zoo. (Where the bride & groom got engaged and their little slice of heaven)!
Hudson Yards is a newly developed area on the West Side of Manhattan that features a high end shopping mall and the interactive sculpture, Vessel. After visiting these, walk the High Line from 34th Street all the way down to its end at Gansevoort Street. From there, grab a bite to eat, hit Chelsea Market and shop around.
There are many great museums in New York for all preferences. The Met, MoMA, Whitney, Guggenheim, New Museum, Brooklyn Museum, American Museum of Natural History and Cloisters are just a few to name. Check out what’s on before you go to help you decide.
*Pro tip: The Met also has an amazing rooftop that overlooks Central Park for a quick cocktail*
Manhattan by Sail is a great way to tour the NYC harbor and get an up close view of the Statue of Liberty and the NYC skyline. Drinks and snacks are also available for purchase on board.
The Comedy Cellar is a small brick-walled comedy club in Greenwich Village where many top comics are often in the lineup. Great for a date night, small group date or for a very New York experience. They have several shows nightly.
Coney Island is a fun (& kid-friendly) escape from the city- walk the boardwalk, visit the beach, ride rides at Luna Park and grab a hot dog from Nathan’s Famous.
